[QUOTE=aggie97;290201]Overpriced and gay logo printed HUGE on the slide.

I can understand, but there is a reason that bandwagon is huge. They are a great gun.

although i have to say if you knock kimber on it's huge gay logo, i'm surprised you like how that one says "DESERT EAGLE 1911 G" in all caps ghetto font.

Went to Plano this weekend to see my dad and Grandfather for Father's day. Stopped in to my old haunt, The Bullet Trap, and fondled just about every 1911 they had. Was going to shoot the Taurus and a Springfield but the place was packed with a CHL class. It was a mad house. Ended up cornering the oldest sales guy and asked him to show me stuff in the 1911 case. Told him, this wasn't going to be my primary gun, didn't want to cheap out and wanted bang for the buck. He pulled out a Desert Eagle 1911. I didn't even know they made one...apparently they are VERY new. I played with it and fit and finished compared to everything I touched was miles better. Only thing that came close was a $1500 Kimber super pistol. He had a regular customer in the store that bought one a few months back and we chatted and he said he LOVED it. I REALLY didn't want to buy a 5th gun in the last 12 days but ended up getting it. Can't wait to take it to the range this week. Most of the reviews I have found have been VERY positive.

I also found a 110rnd drum for my GSG-5 on sale for 30% off! Damnit I have to stop spending money! LOL!

The next 1911 I buy will be a Springfield Armory. I've got a Kimber and a Sig .45 ACP, but I just have a hankering for a SA.
    Ya why no Kimber?

    This.

I bought my Colt Series 80 satin finish a few years ago for like 725, I've seen similar models with more scratches and blemishes on them than mine go for around 8-900. I know I could probably get damned near a grand for it, but I will never sell it. I love it. Most solid gun I have ever shot.

I like the one on top better but no rail.

The first .45 I shot was a 1911 and fell in love with it therefore I must have what I want.

You don't buy a 1911 because it's the most durable, eats-anything, runs in the harshest conditions. Because unless you picked a great gun, you probably aren't going to get that.
    My Sig isn't the 1911. It's the P220.

Actually I've seen some old broken in Colts that will run like an AK. Loose tolerances FTW!
