    Why no Kimber?

The next 1911 I buy will be a Springfield Armory. I've got a Kimber and a Sig .45 ACP, but I just have a hankering for a SA.

the taurus pt1911 is pretty good especially when it retailed for $550 new. not sure how much they are asking now. personally i'd rather have it over a rock island.

$700 springfields are a little too lacking.
found the Taurus for $529 at my new favorite gun shop...I think there is a 3% discount too which would get damn close to $500.

The RIA's, even the tactical worry me and only come with one mag. taurus has 2 mags....already ahead and I know taurus will be around.

Sig started tickling my fancy as I am sig nut anyway but have to junk in with the XO at around $710 or the Tac Pac for $749. I LOVE the platinum elite which would match my 220 elite.

I also liked the springfield Mil spec in Stainless....I have a thing for SS and titanium!

Now that I THINK I know what I like, time to go fondle them and see which one I like in my hand best.

I do know this much.....I am going to need a MUCH bigger safe or just buy a second one for pistols and keep my current one for rifles. LOL!!!

    Thanks for the input guys!

Thanks for the input...just what I was looking for...

Are the RIA's really ANY good? I saw tons at the gun show in Houston for $399 and figured they were trash....or would need mods to be decent and you end up at $700 anyway.

I have a buddy that has a P14 and hasn't had ANY issues with it for years....might it be a certain year range that was bad.

I really want a 1911 too, ill probably get a Springfield when I get the skarilla...

No Paras for me either, the 3" model I shot a few years ago literally jammed on every other round. Tried every type of brass we had out there, nothing worked better than the other. Not sure if it was because of the "mods" the guy had done to it, but shot like shit and couldnt go thru one mag without jamming at least 3-4 times, no thanks...

    Para Ord

I have a Pxt 14-45 and have never had a failure of any kind feed or fire or eject with any kind of ammo. Fit was as good as any 1911 i've had (Colt,Springfield,Kimber,Sig).

Just the view from my side.

i would go Ruger, when they release the "lower" models the price will rise and should be a decent investment plus havent heard any bad reviews on the SR1911

i have had 2 springfields one i sold because it was ejecting into my forehead(when i called they said if it functions then its in spec) and the other a EMP is at SA now for warranty work and a stop by the custom shop.

id still buy a Springfield if i found one in 9mm that i liked.

also had a les Baer for 3 weeks and couldnt shoot it for shit. so i traded for a spec ops 9 in which i really enjoy shooting and will keep forever

I stake my life and that of my family in the hands of the Austrians and the Germans. I have never had a failure at the range, with all kinds of ammo, even the cheapest re-loaded dirty, filthiest of ammo..

The Springfield Lightweight Champion Operator, Part# PX9115LP retails (at least when I bought mine) for just a hair under $1100.

    They've probably gone down some.
