Originally posted by Forever_frost View PostRight. I didn't say all cops. I said I've heard of cops doing it. If you aren't, good for you. Would you like videos of 911 calls and cops taking over an hour to get to a rape? Or a burglary? Or a car jacking? Or perhaps videos of cops taking pot out of suspects cars and putting it in theirs and selling it later? Or the incident I mentioned about a cop putting sheetrock dust in a car to frame someone?
The bad apples spoil the bunch. You know what? I didn't walk through a city antagonizing me. I walked through city streets were people were actively shooting at me and triggering IED's. You know what else? People in other countries have FAR more protections from us than we in the US do from cops. Hell, we have so many eyes on us that stepping over the boundaries mean war crimes charges whereas a cop gets 15 days vacation without pay.
I'm done with this conversation, as I know that my points fall on deaf ears.

And why is it if a cop hits me, it's not really a big deal but I hit a cop, it's assaulting a peace officer and I get thrown under the jail?
I understand the 30.06 abd 51% laws. Again, it's because a politician in Austin felt the need to give us non-applicability. It's not our fault as police officers that we have that right. You're placing the blame on the wrong people.
As for the assault argument, it's just the way it is. If you are wrongly hit by an officer, file an IA complaint and move on. If you attack him back, well, you're in the wrong as he is and will get charges that'll be looked at by the DA to decide whether nor not it'll go to trial. Again, this is law set in place by politicians in Austin.
I understand your frustruations, but it appears that you are placing the blame on the wong people. I told you who you can write to address your distaste in the laws. Find your local congressman and go from there.

Most of my fellow officers are veterans like yourself. I NEVER arrest people and destroy their lives because I feel like it. I arrest people when sufficient probable cause is met, and not because I feel like fucking this guys day up.
What law says you can't carry? Get a CHL and then you can carry until your little heart is content. As for places where we can carry vs where you cant, well, i'm covered under non-applicability, given to me by the politicians in Austin. If you genuinely have such an issue with it, you can definitely contact them.
I completely respect what you've done for us and this country. I'll never say anything bad about you, but your post just splashed water into my face. I've walked neighborhoods full of people mocking me, and antagonizing me. I've walked through crowds where I've been egged on to a fight just because I'm in uniform. Did me or my partners engage in the fights just because we were police? No. We just ignore the idiots with the mob mentality (much what is demonstrated here) and move on.
SMH.

Would you beat someone like that homeless guy got beat?
The difference between you and 03trubluGT is that you don't always jump on the cop's side. No matter what, 03trubluGT will defend a cop...........dirty or not,..........with all the info or not.

Try walking through a city where you're not sure if there are IED's, VED's, and EVERYONE in the city wants you dead. That's danger. Carrying a weapon on your hip, with reinforcement a call away, in an air conditioned squad car, putting ground up sheet rock in cars or planting weapons or other shit in someone's vehicle you don't like is a coward and those bastards should be publicly hung to make a point.
You put on that badge, you put yourself at a station of authority. You violate that authority and you should pay FAR harder than anyone else. And they don't like the criticism of us little people? Pick a job where they aren't arresting people and destroying their lives because they feel like it.

Edit: I really need to get my medication level increased.
