The restaurants I worked in all had a three drink limit. But yes, it's up to you to judge when/if they've had enough. I only cut one person off.

I've been cut off countless times though. Lol.

Yep, I used to be TABC certified. Never seen it enforced any where though, specifically with a "You can only drink X amount." I've seen people cut off, but never due to a number.

Never been cut off either, and I'm sure several people on here have been there when I was well past any logical limit.

That would be one way of doing it.
Yes. We need more govt involvement. That's the answer to everything. They know how to run shit. Just look at the post office.

There's a pizza joint out here that won't let you have more than three beers in an hour.

x10 I am a bar manager and we keep a close eye on patrons. If they have had a lot of drinks, or are slurring, walking funny, having trouble focusing, talking loud.. I pretty much always make them either get a cab or call a friend to pick them up. if they fail to comply i call the police.. (only had to do that once) I have also taken a shitload of people home... it kinda comes with the biz because you never know when someone is smashed and builds up the strength to order 1 drink

Somehow, I don't think that officers are stalking the roads where it's mostly residential or hotels. Everywhere I have seen a checkpoint has been near the bar scene. Since you are pulling the statistic card, where are yours showing that the majority of drunk drivers come from restaurants, hotels, and homes?

Also, most restaurants that I have seen have a limit on how many drinks you can order. On that note, there is another way to limit drunk drivers, a drink limit at bars. Three drink limit anywhere they serve alcohol unless you can prove that you have a designated driver.

Personally, I have never set foot in a bar and the extent of my drinking is two beers while watching football. I have been through a DUI checkpoint and I didn't like it one bit.

Part of freedom is being free to break the law in the first place. I think some people need to think about that before typing.

Nothing like finding a person and checking for a pulse and looking into there dead eyes, knowing that some one is going to get a knock on there door telling them hes dead and there life will never be the same. Hope you do better than he did, he left kids with no life insurance.
And you wonder why they do these check points,
I think your sarcasm meter needs to be adjusted
