I'd have to say it's better than most countries efforts. However the real issue is the border security, or lack thereof. In my opinion it's easier to find 1000 suppliers in Mexico than 18 million users in basements in the US. Demand will always be an issue, always. You make it legal in the US, the government will tax the shit out of it and Mexico will still have a cheaper product. Sure it will be less but it will still be there. That is a fairytale solution I wish was true.

You're thinking too small. Pot isn't something that has to be produced, like a Panasonic TV. People can grow their own for almost nothing.

The best they've ever accomplished is stemming the flow of DEATH , and that was only through the equivalent of a truce with govt officials.

Remember this is with us going there and training then in special operations warefare, to which a huge group of them defected and started their own cartel now . Which is now in partial control of mexico too.
Oh and we also shipped them some guns too for fun.

You can argue the social inequities religion places on society forever. The facts are Mexico has lost control of their country. Is it their country, not ours. Any solution that completely absolves them from any responsibility is ludicrous. Every country on the world has problems with black markets. Mexico has been particularly belligerent in their attempts to control their country. It is their responsibility to do this, not ours.
