Maybe something about them having 7% of the budget we do???
Yes I expect them to control their own damn country. Why is this blame the US for everything? Why do you REFUSE to hold them responsible? How absolutely absurd is your perspective? It seems as if you view them as incapable of doing anything, like a bunch of migrant cherry pickers? Do you not have any respect for Mexico as a country? Do you not feel they should govern themselves?

The better question is why do you seem to place no blame at all on the Mexican side of the problem? You haven't once mentioned dealing with the supply? You keep saying we fund the problem, who the hell supplies the product? Why is this blame the US?

The answer is drugs are illegal in both countries. Mexico has lost control of their country. They can't police themselves, they can't enforce their laws. That is the point here.

IMO it is much harder to convince someone who has no illegal dealings to go out and try a "hard drug" vs. someone who is forced to have these dealings already since the "soft drugs" are illegal and this is the only way they can acquire them. i don't do any drugs AT ALL, but with weed being illegal you introduce many people who would other wise not be in the "drug scene" to the "drug scene"

It's one of their cities, not the whole country, I misspoke.

I would not say America is solely the main source of funding...I have a buddy who used to sell coke and a lot of it and the main people he dealt with were Hispanic construction workers....they just happen to live in the US

Our problem is our current "drug war" has done nothing but fill the jails, it obviously has not curbed the demand/usage. Drug user treatment has been proven to be more effective by a huge magnitude but we'd rather throw them in jail knowing they'll be back in the game the day they get out. Our government spend billions of dollars fighting drugs, prosecuting people who use, transport, and sell them. We are fighting on our end. Mexico isn't doing shit on their end. They've lost control of their entire country, they are being dominated by cartels, and it's entirely their own fault for losing control. Mexico has the highest murder rate in the world, more so than Somalia and the worst of Africa. That is ridiculous.

They keep saying that we are feeding their business which I cannot deny however I can point out that they are supplying some items at which can be grown anywhere and our governments ban on the production and sale of these substances empowers the cartels.

This is about the extent of my belief that we are the problem, legalize weed however you want to and you will remove a large source of income and power from the cartels. Their weed is shit compared to the genetically mutated shit we create over here in clean room environments and they would have to rely on more taboo substances i.e. cocaine, heroin, meth which have very specific audiences and I believe that it is harder for someone to convince people to do coke, heroin or meth over weed and therefore their client base would drop to a specific few who are regulars...just saying
