It isn't just vice. There would be zero crime if there was no laws. It's all relative to the kind of society you wish to live in.

In the society I'd like to live in, people mind their own business and don't intentionally hurt others. That is pretty much it. And when you get down to it, every law that is created is made around the idea of not hurting others. We should just simplify it.

Do you think crack, marijuana, cocaine, etc. will ever be legalized? I highly, highly doubt that - maybe MJ one distant day. None of what anyone is whining about in here is a solution. Everyone seems to advocate absolving Mexico of any blame, and then produce no real solutions themselves. Futant seems to be convinced he has the solution, even though he produces none and finds faults with anything proposed. The cartels can be stopped with the proper strategy, and this whole defeatist mentality is just pathetic.

I think pot will be at the least decriminalized in our lifetime. It is already headed that way with what, 18 states? I doubt it on the rest. If it is, I'm going to Nevada and snorting a line off a hookers ass.

Who absolved Mexico of ALL blame? On the contrary, it appears to me you are absolving the US of ANY responsibility. Like I said, it isn't black and white. We're in the middle of a parasite/host situation that we largely created. Accepting responsibility for it is the first step to understanding it and working towards a solution.

I'd have to say it's better than most countries efforts. However the real issue is the border security, or lack thereof. In my opinion it's easier to find 1000 suppliers in Mexico than 18 million users in basements in the US. Demand will always be an issue, always. You make it legal in the US, the government will tax the shit out of it and Mexico will still have a cheaper product. Sure it will be less but it will still be there. That is a fairytale solution I wish was true.
