The cop may have not had enough time to see if the guy was unarmed or not, It was dark and the guy is charging him butt ass naked. For all the cop knew he had a knife in his hand. If this was a calm conversation between him and the naked guy and the cop put a bullet in him for no reason, or the crackhead was trying to run away and the cop shot him in the back I can see the outrage. I think the shooting was justified. The kid's death was just a unfortunate outcome of his bad decision to use bath salts, get naked, try to break into a police station, and then charge a cop in a fit of rage.

May I remind u armchair quarterbacks that pcp or even k2 can make u super human? Meaning taser is just a quaint little tickle and oc is a water bottle. Until the story comes completely out I'm pretty sure this all happened in a matter of seconds, getting "backup" doesn't magically appear in a second. I havee had the privilege of tangling with a high naked skinny kid who threw me and another good sized fit officer around AFTER being sprayed. He just rubbed it off and rubbed his nuts and smiled at us. He was on K2 or bath salts this time. Pcp is everywhere still. Jason saying 3 houses for sure are tagged as hazard locations is a bunch in a city. Most pcp or psycho drug addicts aren't always well known. It's usually a first timer who flips out and his friends call 911 because there buddy is buck neked and jumping fences while banging on there back windows.

Tasers don't work on the pain mechanism. Sure, it may not "hurt" but with the electricity coursing through your muscles causing an involuntary contraction, there isn't shit you can do, PCP or not.

Point is the guy was naked and in no way show deadly force to the officer. Also as mentioned above the officer had other options on his belt other then his gun. Taser, Baton, Pepperspray, Hell Pepperspray & Taze his ass & then beat his ass with the Baton. No need to kill a naked guy

Don't recall ever seeing a taser deployed in the middle of a wrestling match.

My point was more along the lines of - just because he is a 132 pounds does not mean he should not be taken seriously. (A few posts indicated the cop/person should not fear a 132 pound person) Still tazer/etc things apply, but not knowing someones background is reason enough to retaliate as severely as needed. Regardless if a person is 90 pounds or 300.

From my perspective, shooting does seem severe but it's also a half-ass story. I could see little details about a knife or something being left out or just not known.

I really am getting tired of posting these under other people's screen names.

So the cop, evidently alone, sees a person outside hammering on the windows naked. He goes to confront the man and is chased. Let's see, what's normally on a cop belt:

Taser... less than lethal
Baton...less than lethal
Pepper spray...less than lethal
Radio for backup....usually less than lethal
Pistol...lethal.

So, skip everything else and go directly to the pistol because we absolutely know nothing else would have worked and the cop had no ability to reenter the building he just left or radio for backup while he's playing naked tag.

You charge an officer you can pretty much expect to be shot. The officer wouldn't have any way of knowing if the guy was palming a weapon or something.

I call BS on that! There is a thing called a Taser or even Backup. Hell I have wateched Worlds Wildest Vid on True TV where officers have the same problem & the Naked dude gets dog piled by a bunch of cops or Tasered. Officer should be brought up on Murder Charges
