I have a regular customer with an 01 grand prix that has a dash that is literally rolling itself away from the windshield. She uses literally a dozen door stoppers to keep it under eye line against the winshield.

96-01 rams were the worst, 02+ being second worst. 95-98 chevies being third. I haven't seen any newer 07 silverado or tahoe dashes cracked yet, but we usually only see those after they've been dumped from fleet service and put back into lawn fleet service

Not for dodge. My dad kept his 98 ram under a car port, or in a parking garage all of it's life. Damn thing still cracked.

News flash: If your '07+ GM truck dash is not cracked yet, it will be.
Yeah, a dodge dash is a piece of shit. All the trucks we had at TxDOT in college were cracked out. I think they were that way from the factory.

My 96 is perfect except for a little color fade, and my 03 is all but perfect, some of the vinyl coating is rubbing off where the wife likes to keep putting her damned feet.

Still asked me to look, basically the truck was riding on the lower control arm with no suspension movement. I couldn't see under far enough to tell what was really going on but he was asking about the upper ball joint. In my 30 second in the dark parking lot appraisal it appeared the upper ball joint had failed or broken and the truck was completely bottomed out on the lower control arm. His response was ok cool thanks and drove off into the night.

"But I can drive it for a couple of weeks until I can get it fixed can't I?"

I don't make them sign a waiver but we do discuss it. Usually, it is broken in multiple places already so they can't say anything.

Cant say I ever broke a 99+ GM dash. Had a couple 95-99 (early) ones break the center mounts at the defrosters but thats because they dry rot.

Problem with 97+ Dodge dashes is they are made of powder.
