I love hearing the dipshit opponents of Capitalism. Usually the biggest consumers of Capitalism. Shut the fuck up.Originally posted by jnobles06 View Postthe fight is for the capitalist agenda under the guise of freedom, so big business can continue to exploit cheap resources of other countries, then turn around mark them up, and sell them to us for max profit. they just employ demagoguery through use words like "freedom" and "terrorism," to get the public to support their efforts.
the irony is that a lot of the campaign financiers are incorporated off shore and pay hardly any taxes, but some how have millions of dollars to invest in the presidential election. a majority of the time the candidate with the largest budget or contributions wins the election, hence the election is bought. same thing with congressional elections, and guess who actually votes for the president; congress. Al Gore won the popular vote against Bush, but Bush took office. You see, even if the people vote one way congress can still say no. its just an illusion of choice and freedom, and is that way by design which are the laws that congress vote on that govern such things.

Do you actually believe warfare is that black and white/conventional these days? Give me a fucking break. It isn't that cut and dry.Originally posted by cyclonescott View PostSecure the southern border, park our navy off the east and west coasts and who in their right mind would even try and attack? It would be a suicide mission that would have no chance of getting through. You wouldn’t have Russian bombers flying 50 miles off our borders either.

Yes, I believe we fight for American freedom. You don't have to worry about Japan invading here though the Russians are getting uppity again.

I was going to say WWII, but then I thought on it a little more. We're fighting in the Middle East to keep the shit over there from getting worse and coming over here.Originally posted by cyclonescott View PostDon't you like how propaganda works? Meaning that world wars start out as regional wars which start out as individual wars. Look at what is happening in Iraq today, if you let the blow up too big then someone can end up invading the USA. I don't favor intervening in every war or anything like that but I also don't favor isolationism.I agree that we don't need to run other countries and don't need to put assholes in charge of other countries, but we also don't need to let assholes run amok.Originally posted by cyclonescott View PostSorry, but imperialism and intervention has been the major cause of conflict throughout the world. It is the major cause of problems in the Middle East now. We wouldn’t have the problems that we do now with Iraq if we hadn’t backed Saddam. The same policies that sent Egypt and Libya into tail spins are what caused problems with Iran in the 50’s.

But none of that has anything to do with you saying soldiers haven't fought for our freedom since the 1800s. That is bullshit and you need to get your head out of your ass.
