Paul (greenbullet) came over and assembled the rear and we got it in the car along with the transmission.
I have to go through all the suspension and tighten the bolts and set the instant center and ride height. Still lots of work to do but this was the hard stuff getting the rear and trans up in there.
I had Diablo Rojo "Matt" at Powder Works and his guys powder coat some of my rear end parts. I should have had him do the entire rear end housing...
They did the caliper mounting brackets, anti-moan plates, tension rods and the rear end cover. Their red matched the other red suspension parts perfectly.
I can't wait to get this thing together and up in the car.
Rear got welded up by Brooks yesterday. Then I mounted the ARB tabs, put some paint on it and started getting it ready to put in. Next is assemble the rear and stuff it in.
I have to go back on Tuesday...maybe, if my visa comes back. Still no word on where my driveshaft is and my frt struts won't be here until maybe Monday. So I am not thrashing to get her on the road this trip.
Your lucky I spent a 8 hour day on mine and prob caused rust from all the water I sprayed know it all day lol. And carb cleaner, simple green, engine foam etc.
I've got patience and I tried that crap with mine but it has a thin undercoat. I gave up.
Where is the before
It wasn't that bad before but still grimy and oily. I hit it with the foam cleaner and let it sit for 15 or so. Then hit it again with foam followed by scrubbingbwhile it was wet. The rough spot got brake cleaner then I brake cleaner the residue off.
