Sometimes we take for granted the knowledge that we have stored in out knoggins. There are some people out there that tech lingo and concepts might as well be a foreign language. They just don't grasp it. Some of the people posting in here have been pretty fast and know what they're talking about. Don't ignore their advice.

A while back I had a 2V and I wanted to modify it. A lot of people said don't waste your time with bolt ons and throw a blower on it. I went with what I wanted and ended up with enough in parts and labor to probably buy a nice used blower setup... and had a lot less power.

Are you done with fbods? Sell your car, pocket the money, buy this car, pocket the extra money, put a 12 bolt on it and have fun!

Now, what I said was no where near out of line - especially considering how many times he was told by others that what he was doing was foolish and wasteful. He was given MANY opportunities about other ways to achieve his goal.

The only part of this post that could be construed as "mean" is the oil changing part. Anything else about that post is merely taken out of context - like many other comments on this forum.

I had a long lengthy reply typed up, and fucked it up - but long story short....

If you don't know some of the common lingo, then you have NO IDEA what you are getting into. You post this thread, and then get all butthurt when you're called out on it instead of doing some simple research.

Your planned purchase makes NO sense as stated above, many times. You are overbuilding and overspending so far, it's rediculous. Now, if you are building with the plans of expansion - go for it..but, I don't think you realise what "more than 500HP" really is.

If you don't know engines, you don't know that you are undoubtely getting into the tougher stuff like changing oil, adjusting rockers etc.

Your specific inquiry into compression ratios is comical, there is no magic number what will or will not work with pump gas.. or what will or will not make more/less power and I DOUBT that you could tell a difference either way.

MY engine is very close to what you are trying to build, or spec out - It probably makes near 500RWHP N/A. Now, why exaclty do you need to put a blower on that to make 500HP? I'd also guess that I have near 15,000$ in it.

The only reason I'd consider it (spending 15K), is IF I were bound to using a 8.2" motor as opposed to a 9.5" motor. Research it, you know you need to. Everyone else will understand.
