No asshole... Dunning Kruger is the personal impression that you are much better than you think when compared to your peers, and usually it's something you suck at.

How many fucking times do I have to say IT'S THE INDIAN NOT THE ARROW.

Is it easier to hit the green laying 1 from 140yds out in the middle of the fairway, or laying 2 210yds out in the thick rough around a tree after you take your drop?

I've come to the conclusion that you're just fucking with me now. There's no way you're this ignorant.

From playing several rounds with you though I'd have to say you lose way more shots on bad irons and short game play over anything I've seen off the tee. But you're gonna think what you want.

I can't get Cody to practice his short game at all, and until he does he won't get any better, no matter how well he drives the ball.

There is no Dunning Kruger Effect, goddamnit, how many times do I have to say I need to fix my swing and no GI iron in EXISTENCE is going to help hooking my fucking driver into a fucking creek!?!?!

I don't get Don's approach to this at all. It baffles my mind really. I went and got fitted for a driver. I loved my Taylor Made R7 and had every intention of buying the new R11. My Father in Law is a scratch golfer and set me up on the swing monitor with his good friend.

I tried 6 different drivers, I didn't care what brand or what it looked like, I tried them all. I have no clue what my spin rate was, I don't know what launch angle is good. I know my club head speed was 113mph on average.

When it all came down, the new Titlesit 910 D2 with the S flex RIP shaft was the best fit for my game.

I don't care what I hit, or what the stats say, I know on the tee box now I am more in control and I still launch the ball very far out there. I don't need to over analyze my game, I know keeping the ball in play will help my score.

Don makes things WAY too difficult for himself. He always knows what he did wrong, but there is so far yet, no solution

If I'm having an off day driving, I know to lean on my irons and short game. If it all worked all the time, I'd be a scratch golfer, lol

I am certainly not one to cast stones, but I try to hit Gates' clubs just about every time we play, and there's no fucking way I would own a set of anything like that - not for a while at least. it's a lot easier to correct swing problems, hit more clean shots etc.. with some sort of non-blade irons. Even I know that. "ugly" clubs work just as good as pretty clubs. I mean, if the ball goes in the hole in less strokes with an ugly club, its' working isn't it?

To put it into perspective, how many times have you seen someone come in a bowling alley with a 300$ "pretty" ball, 200$ shoes, a wrist brace, 4 kinds of rosin, and some sort of ball cleaning solution only to shoot 130? It's the same thing, only in bowling you throw the ball instead of hitting it.

"hyuk hyuk, hey Gomer! If you had some super shovel irons you would have NEVER hit that tee shot into the woods!"

I don't get why y'all want to incessantly bag on me on my irons: I'm not bad with them. Why do you want to completely ignore bogey/double bogey scores when I'm taking a drop or hitting out of the bushes?! I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!

I'll expound on your example, Brooks:

If that bowler either strikes or leaves a solid 5 pin... Thats all he does BTW. And he MISSES picking up that 5 pin 80% of the time... Are you going to teach him to pick up the 5 pin he misses, or tell him to buy more forgiving strike balls?

Once again, who cares if I leave 2 or 3 iron shots on the table when I'm leaving 12 off the tee?

When I'm shooting 83-87 and my irons are keeping me out of the 70s, I'll listen.

Mike, we need to play some time.
Goddamnit I bought a set of Adams CB2s and tried to play a cavity back that was forged.

Game improvement irons have offset, wide soles and ugly top lines. I hit too many thin shots and hooks. Could I have possibly hit them better after a few months? Sure. But how about this...

I shoot mainly in the 92-97 range.

I'm losing between 6-10 strokes solely off the tee box. this includes drops and punch outs.

Why in the hell would I want to dump money into some irons (again) to spend months possibly gaining 2-3 strokes from iron play, when whatever demons I have with my driver/hybrids are costing me 6-10 RIGHT NOW, let alone the bad position and length of approach shots taking a drop or 3-off-the-tee gives me???

Sure I might not hit my irons spot-on all the time, but Jesus fuck I've only been playing a year and a half. What the hell good will some GI irons provide when I'm vomiting 10 shots a round into the goddamn forest?

    I can see it now...

    *******
Dr. Dave: "Nice Game Improvement irons! I'm glad you listened finally! What's your handicap nowadays?"

    Don: "17.8..."

Dr. Dave: "See? You dropped a stroke in only 4 months!"

20 minutes later on the 3rd tee box...

Dr. Dave: "Jesus you just pulled that one into the trees. Thats gone... you're swing plane is too flat/over the top/inside/outside/quick/slow/retarded. Why won't you fix that?!"

Don: "I spent the money for some swing lessons on the GI irons."

Dr. Dave: "well, Uhhh, you need even MORE SUPER GAME INPROVEMENT IRONS then."
    ******

So anyways, I'm gonna keep hitting my shit-ass musclebacks until I stop losing a dozen fucking strokes before I pull off the tee box.
