What does method of carry have anything to do with were you can carry?

It isn't hypocritical - and even less so because campus is excluded from the oc bill in it's current form. I hate the mindset that if you are a 2nd amendment supporter you have to be for EVERY little provision that is proposed. I conceal carry all day everyday - the only place I cannot arm myself that I have to go is to school. That is a much bigger problem (gun free zones) than being able to strap on your N frame and go to whataburger. Sure it isn't a popular opinion, but it is held by some - and some that are too pussy to speak up about it for fear of the pulse of the neckbeards and ineedzalltharights!!! Crowds.

You picking and choosing other people's rights, their unalienable rights, when they can and cannot exercise them, makes you a hypocrite. You would be better off for or against it. At least you'd be respected by some of these other guys.

There is your stance on the matter. Then some folks are like I am and want the option, even though I'll rarely do it. Then other folks want to walk around all day with their weapon on their hip...etc

Ultimately, it appears as if it is happening. I'd rather see gun laws loosening as opposed to becoming more strict.

It'll be interesting to see how this turns out as far as those who OC over those who don't. In the 15 years I've lived in VA and however long OC has been legal here I have yet to come across someone OC'ing unless it was a plain clothes with a badge in close proximity.

I just find it [open carry] to be reckless and potentially dangerous to the public. I find very little benefits besides what I already mentioned.

I personally have never really heard a good solid reason why OC is beneficial, most of the time (like the deterrent reason) it does have some theoretical merit, but the negatives seem to vastly outweigh the positives. And from a 2nd Amendment perspective it concerns me using the liabilities of OC as leverage for the anti-gun crowd.

Open carry makes you a target and has an intimidating effect on the general public that knows nothing about guns. If they are on the fence, this will sway their thinking.

What he said is not an ad hominem.... An ad hominem is when someone tries to invalidate an argument based on a character flaw of the person that made the argument. For example, if I were to tell you that you don't know what you're talking about because you're 21, THAT'S an ad hom. If I just told you that you're a douche, that's not an ad hom. If you're going to throw out the names of logical fallacies, it'd do you well to learn what they are.
