LOL @ trueblue. Look, you said you'd haul someone in for not giving out their SS#. Then you said you wouldn't give yours out because you don't have to. It sound like dville didn't have to give his out. So what would you have done in his shoes? Declined to give it out? If so, would you have changed your mind if he said he was going to arrest you? That's my question.

Damn it, I was waiting for someone to point out that Jody spells his name with a "y' instead of an "i" so I could could say "I got you good, chicken fucker!".

If there is a warrant with the same name, or a SOUNDEX hit, then the SSN is used to confirm or deny that it is the correct person.

For all of you that would refuse to give it, you're just giving the officer a reason to haul you in and have you fingerprinted. All the while your car is towed.

This place is 100% predictable when it comes to this topic.

There are a ton of scenarios, but I like the way you stay out of a conversation and lurk until you find a way to make a stab.

How about some constructive input instead of these hit and run tactics?

I am sure it was a real police officer, but a small part of me still worries about that! He wouldn't have had the info on the car and such otherwise.
    Check your PMs.
