i said,,,, vortech/procharger..... the reason i say vortech later in the thread, is beause i researched further into both the systems, the better of the 2 is vortech. i DO know what i want. but ya know what turbostang?? you win man, pat on the back, 2 thumbs up, YOU WIN. hell im just gona have a 460 built and put a fuckin turbo from a freight train on it. fuck it right? lol damn man you brought out the bad guy in me. i dont like bein like this, its not what i came here for.

The next "problem". You called the ENGINE BUILDER and told them what you wanted power wise. They told you what you needed, and the price of what you wanted - 15K. But complained. One - the engine is WAY overbuilt, but that's fine, I preach overbuilding anyways, especially in THIS sense. 2)This particular combo, you'd damn near have to run a stock cam to make less power than what you are asking for N/A! (with any decent heads and camshaft selection, but could most likely be done with off the shelf parts!)
the power adder will be a new procharger setup, if i can tune for 12-15 psi OR whatever psi needed to reach my goal. whether it be 9 psi from the procharger and some help from water/meth, i dont care. for the compression ratio, i do understand that i need to stay in the low 8's and maybe 9, but then again, heads can change that as well so thats where im confused. also, there is a long list of probably 1 million other parts i need so any help, or suggestions would be appreciated. sorry for the long post, but i just had to get this off my chest. thanks ahead of time
Secondly, your initial posts say procharger - but you flipflop back and forth wtih Vortech?

Look at some used engines on www.racingjunk.com Most of them with a cam change will be street friendly. You ask for help but ignore everything. Might just take the car to HPP and have them take all your money.

the same thing im tryin to explain to you is exactly like this,,, ok, a 2011 mustang GT with the new 5.0 in it.... 412hp from the factory right?? ok,, now, put a supercharger on it and what do ya got??? more power right??? ding!!! i have never, EVER in my life had to explain something like this to someone that knows MORE than i do about it, i would think you would understand....

no guy, here is what you're missing,, im not going to have it built FOR 500 HP right outta the shop...... with the right setup, such as everything you mentioned above, i can have it built to come out with around 400... now,,, 400+100 is what turbostang??? 500 right? yes, so thats 100 hp i have to play with, if i want it, then hey, give it the boost it needs to make it,, if i want more from there,,, 550,575,600 then i will go water/meth on top of the boost..... isnt that easy to understand? wtf?

You are so blind, you are simply ignoring the facts. IF you build a 331, 347, 408 etc.. with a decent set of heads, a decent camshaft etc. it WILL make 500HP or damn near it.
SO, if you have this engine that makes damn near 500HP - why do you need to put a blower on it to make 500HP?
If you want 380-390HP, then SAY THAT. NOT 500. SHIT.
YOU complained about 15K, Now you are saying if you had it - so what?
You're so confused, you don't know WTF YOU said.

The problem is, you have your shit out of order and you balk at the people who try to steer you in the right direction because you are so damn hard headed and have to do shit "YOUR WAY".
You STILL don't get it though. If you build an engine even remotely close to what I have, which is what you've pretty much spec'd out - it WILL produce 500HP. Why do you need a supercharger on top of that to make 500HP when you already fucking have it?
Now, the part you glazed over - the money. I spec'd only 3 things above. Those things are already approaching 6500$. The spec'd parts above do NOT include valve train, balancer.. fuck it, it's listed above....You balked at the fact that these "shops" have quoted you 13K or 15K or whatever it was, IMHO - it's not too far off considering they'd assemble it too.
Now that's all aside - you're gonna tear down your 306 after you get it out of the car and put it back together over and over? for what? so you know how to unscrew some bolts and put them back in where they came from? Taking apart an engine and putting it back together is one thing. Making it run is another, and making it LIVE is...well.. you guessed it, another. To further complicate things - tuning it... but you knew that, because your going to read about it, right?
What gives me the right to say you are not making any sense? The same fucking right that allows you to make your asenine redundant posts, and the same right that allows everyone else to respond to them. You posted this dribble on a public forum, you can expect to get answers. some of which you may not like. I don't know about you, but when I want an answer, I need a decent one - and that requires someone posting the relevant details such as "FULL INTENT" - not someone bitching about a 15,000$ price tag when they ask for GOLD, but expect a brass price.

When people make foolish mistakes, I remind them of their decisions. Just like this one. WHen they make a good call, I tell them about it. When they need something welded, I weld it. When they make foolish posts (like a no boost thread) - I try to help them solve it...but you, what do you do?
