Honestly, I'd do a 351 based motor. You have to buy everything anyway. You say cubic inches don't matter......but they do. With a 408, you could make the power you want or get real close NA. With more CI's, you can go milder on the cam/boost and still make more power.
I don't care what you say now, you are always going to want more. You'll want more the minute I eat your ass in my LS1

lol i dont live in texas, i'm from illinois, but im with the 101st here in afghanistan right now, but i havent had the car for all that long. everything on it now has already been on it for a while. not gonna put any big money or parts into it until i either blow this setup or 6 months after i get back stateside, whichever comes first lol.

i'm beginning to scratch my head. we're talkin about maybe 1 or 2 track visits every other month, and maybe 3 runs each visit... all i plan on going for is to hunt down my best time, in the 1/8 & 1/4 after that, i wont even be seen at any track, just takin joyrides around ft. campbell & nashville on the weekends. fine tuning and "care"ful driving can also save any engine no matter how its built. i think what im looking for now is kinda overkill, but i know how i am on the streets, i dont like punks goin home talkin smack cuz i didnt run them, so, i will have to issue out ass whoopins quite a bit but that wont take much with this setup. after the word gets around, i shouldnt have to prove it anymore lol and then the big dawgs are gona come out to play, then im just straight up fucked so i will just save my gas and drive in granny mode.

with the cubes comes assurance, u can beat and pound a 351 harder and longer than you can a 347.

i would but i dont want the cubes. woody MIGHT talk me into a 347 but that,,, with the procharger or vortech setup would overshoot my power goal. i dont want or need anything past 500 at the wheels
