Let's see. The M4 is basically the M16, just shortened. Vietnam. The 203 is based off the M79. Vietnam. We have Mossberg 500's and Remington shotguns but they aren't different than civilian ones. There is the Mk 19 but that again is an automatic 203 that breaks down constantly which still puts it in the Vietnam era weapons. Navy has a railgun but that's requiring a ship to hold so I'm not counting that as last I heard it's still a prototype.Originally posted by likeitfast55 View PostAre you serious? What do you think we have that is new? We tried to get Dragonskin but that was defective so we've fallen back to stuffing thick plates of ceramic into fabric body armor. That's not cutting edge. Our NVG's are horrific and cause more issues than they help.
I want to hear about these super tech weapons and body armor. I want to hear how Americans can't beat Marines because of said tech.
Tow: Vietnam era
240B and other variations: Slightly lighter M60: Vietnam
SAW is a variant of the MG42: WW2
Bayonets: Yeah, sharp pointy thing on the end of a stick
I can keep goingLast edited by Forever_frost; 11-10-2012, 07:33 PM.

and frost, if you want to get into a pissing match about how you have more technology, weaponry, strategy, man power, etc. then the US government has, i am sorry, but that is not an argument worthy of my time. trust me, i do believe you would fight vs. give up your guns, as i believe many on here would, but i don't believe this site is representative of the majority of this country. if they played their cards right, slowly convincing all the libs that guns are bad, and put a 10yr minimum sentence + a quarter of a million dollar fine for being in possession of a firearm, offered some incentive to "see something, say something" in the form of 5k if you turn someone in, i think a lot of folks would turn them over.
i'll reiterate my earlier point, hopefully i am wrong, hopefully this is all horse shit and even if it did come to fruition, we'd all band together and take down heli's, tanks, drones, etc. together.

Guns? what guns, no guns here. Guns kill, I hate guns. But, I really like ammo.

You are not going to take on a platoon of Marines with state of the art automatic weapons and the best body armor you cannot buy protected by armed personnel carriers and attack helicopters unless you choose to die that day -- for nothing.
You will either be in the country or out, and if you are in, you will stay in and you will comply.

That article reads like a bunch of Milquetoast faggotry. You can bet your ass just as Middle Eastern Terrorist groups have sleeper cells, so do God fearing "Christian" groups here in the States. There will be stand offs and bloodshed. Look at what Koresh did with a bunch of rag tags against the ATF.

So, no comment on what super body armor and weapons the military has that are high tech and not purchasable by the public? We're still using WW1 and Vietnam era weapons. Back up your statements.

Well, if the perception is that we have nothing to lose, then people will go off the reservation.Originally posted by dville_gt View Postthe only reason i don't think they'd try it is because without their tax mules (aka the haves) the gov. could no longer continue to operate (or at least not for long.
if they banned them and went out and said it was 10yrs in prison and 500k fine if caught, then offered 5k for information that leads to hidden weapons i think there would be a large number of people who would give them and/or rat.
10 years ago i'd never have thought our citizens would carry out indefinite detention without trial, but we got there. i don't disagree that it seems far fetched at this moment, but the government slowly, but surely, eases us out of our rights. this for the most part eliminates a large coordinated uprising, and allows them the upper hand.
